Planning Phase: August - September
Prepare your resume, build cover letters, plan your destination countries or wish list. Make a list of the struggles you're having as a teacher in the USA and what is more important for you to change in your next career post.
Helpful tips: Make a vision board. Focus on the lifestyle and energy you want to create and bring into your life in the next year.
Job Hunting Phase: End of September - Early March
Get ready to step on the gas! Recruiting in international schools moves fast (once it gets rolling). Expect to submit several applications and to conduct up to 3 interviews with various members of the same school. Research his key here. Prepare to dive in and discover what different schools around the world are offering and how it lines up with your aspirations.
Helpful tips: Make a list of questions with your partner or family members. Ask all kinds of questions about the school, culture, lifestyle in the host country, and personal needs related to your specific needs/wants. This will aid you greatly down the road during interviews.
Document Phase: March to July
If you have signed a contract, Congratulations! Now it's time to gather all your documents, obtain medical exams and background checks, and to prepare yourself for the move abroad. Organization is key!
